About Simon

About Me:  I have played every single sport I've been able to find a league for.  As a teen, playing hockey at the highest competitive level possible, my aspirations were to one day be drafted.  For many this is a typical pipe dream, but for me this was reality.  Due to unfortunate injuries, I've been sidelined to watch former teammates and linemates make the show.  Being an athlete, its given me the knowledge and first hand experience to what the daily grind to being a professional athlete is like.  This combined with my natural work ethic has proven to be a perfect blend for choosing winners.

Biggest Win:  One that clearly stands out in my mind was UFC 90.  A relative unknown in Junior Dos Santos made his UFC debut against a proven 11-3-1 veteran in Fabricio Werdum.  At 5.5-1, Santos was given no shot to win the fight.  Through diligent research, I felt that Santos was heavily underrated and felt very confident in Santos' ability to match, if not surpass Werdum in every category.  Not 2 minutes into the fight, Santos was the more dominant fighter and landed a devastating uppercut to end the fight in a "knockout of the night" manner.

Handicapping Strategies:  I like to ride hot teams and go against the cold teams.  I put a lot of faith in momentum and the ability to continue a hot streak.  The same applies to teams who are struggling.  Being a part of my fair share of sports teams, I understand how difficult it can be to climb out of a slump especially at a professional level.

Teams I Avoid:  I generally avoid any game Brett Favre is involved in.  That man is a sicko.  He can throw 6 TD's or 6 INT's in a single quarter, who the hell knows.

Sports I Excel At:  Without question, Hockey, Football and Mixed Martial Arts are my specialty.  I also have a proven profitable record with baseball and basketball.
